Some of the best books I’ve read, shortly described.
Product design
The design of everyday things • Don Norman
The best introduction to design, by one of the greatest design minds in
our generation. It talks about design, the designer, and its relationship to the world.
Everybody is creative, and developing confidence in it is a key to
better work and better life. And also the key to developing seniority as a product
designer.
A first-hand perspective of a transgender woman, understanding herself
and the world around her. She is also the leader of one of my favorite bands, Against
Me!
The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas • Machado de Assis
"Perhaps the reader is astonished by the frankness with which I expose
and emphasize my mediocrity; let him remember that frankness is the virtue most
appropriate to a defunct."
"Now any dogma, based primarily on faith and emotionalism, is a
dangerous weapon to use on others, since it is almost impossible to guarantee that the
weapon will never be turned on the user."
A boring job and a cancer diagnose with a few months to live is what
Baudouin has. His brother Luc is there to help him. Only available in Portuguese and
French.
